WTXY (1540 AM) is a 1000-watt daytimer radio station broadcasting a lite rock music format, along with local news, sports and community information. Licensed to Whiteville, North Carolina, United States. The station, along with translator 103.9FM W280FO, is owned by WTXY Radio, LLC.

WTXY's first license was granted to original owner Greg Singletary (Waccamaw Broadcasting Co.) on November 17, 1978 with the call letters WOOZ. The station changed it's call letters on Dec. 31, 1979 to WTXY. The radio station was sold to Tom Stanley (Stanley Broadcasting, Inc.) in 1980, who served the community until he sold it to Jeff Millikin (Millikin Broadcasting) on March 14, 2007. The station was immediately put up for sale, and purchased by current owners, WTXY Radio, LLC on August 6, 2008. The station began simulcasting on the 250-watt 103.9FM W280FO on July 16, 2018.

Along with the lite rock music format, WTXY carries North Carolina Tar Heels Football and Men's Basketball broadcasts, as well as local high school football, basketball and baseball coverage in Columbus County. High Schools covered in the area include Whiteville, East Columbus, West Columbus, and South Columbus. Broadcasts are live on WTXY 1540AM & 103.9FM, as well as the website WTXY1540.com.

WTXY Radio, LLC maintains fully equipped studios at its transmitter site to broadcast when wide spread power outages occur in the community. The latest solid state transmitting technology and signal processing equipment was installed in September 2008 to broadcast the loudest and clearest AM/FM signal possible. Backup facilities are also available to provide continuous service to the local community.
